What Every Woman Wants For Christmas

Hi, Lady Boomers,

The following is a list of gifts every women would want for Christmas.  Some gifts on this blog come things I have read, kept and fondled with a splash of my own wants that I feel are rockin’.  I’m proud to say I have accumulated most of these after 60 years of living on planet earth:

One old love she can imagine going back to, or maybe even actually going back to, and one who reminds her how far she has come…

A bank account or a money belt in her underwear drawer with enough money to move out of her house or to move to another city/state/country and rent a place of her own even if she won’t or doesn’t want to go…

Something exquisite to wear that moves seamlessly from morning to evening if the date of her dreams wants to see her after work or in an hour…

A youth she is content to leave behind…

A future she is willing to accept…

A past juicy enough that she can retell it with ease and humor… (see my memoir, 60, Sex & Tango, Confessions of a Beatnik Boomer)

Finding that turning sixty or seventy is actually one of the great “turn ons” in life, especially if she has some money to keep the party going and a sexy smile…

A toolbox with a screw driver, a cordless drill and a Cosa Bella black lace bra…

The lyrics to a sexy romantic song she can sing perfectly when driving in her car…

One friend who makes her laugh and one who makes her cry…

A favorite painting or photo in her possession that brings back the sweetest nostalgic memory in her life, preferably one where she is the subject…

A full set of china, crystal wine glasses, a silver or silver plated set of utensils and a brilliant recipe for a meal that will make her guests feel like they deserve it…

A resume that is completely honest and totally forthright…

A feeling of control over her destiny…

Better Gifts For Christmas:

The ability to fall in love without losing herself…

The graceful ability to quit a job, break up with a lover, or confront a friend without ruining the friendship…

The ability to try harder and the grace to know when to walk away…

The uncanny knack to have a good time at a party she’d never choose to attend…

The honesty and cunningness to ask for what she wants in a way that makes it most likely she’ll get it…

The knowledge that she can’t change her height, her hips, or her DNA and chutzpah to flaunt the rest…

Knowing that her childhood or her parents may not have been perfect, but its over…

Knowing what she would and wouldn’t do for love or more…

The grace to live alone even if there are days she doesn’t feel like it…

The intuition to know whom she can trust and whom she can’t and why she shouldn’t take it personally…

Knowing where to go when her soul needs soothing…

Knowing what she can and can’t accomplish in a day…

The consciousness to make small intentions during the day instead of making big goals that are impossible to accomplish…

Okay, ladies, if I left something out, please fill in and never forget to follow your bliss.  I hope you get what you wish for.

Happy Holidays

Namaste

Joan
